We have a pretty simple philosophy here at Enduro Bites: food is better when it’s fresh. While this isn’t exactly a revolutionary statement, it’s also a departure from standard sports nutrition industry practices. Bars from big brands often sit on a pallet and/or shelf for months before reaching the end consumer.
We do it differently. We make our bars weekly in small batches here in our Colorado Springs kitchen. And, we make every possible effort to ship out orders as soon as they’re placed.
Let us give you the rundown of how we make this happen, using our Dark Chocolate Espresso bar as an example.
When we show up in the morning, we already know which flavors we plan to make that day. We begin by mixing ingredients in a very large bowl. We source local and organic ingredients as often as possible. For example, our coffee beans come from a roaster who is about a mile down the road, and we usually pick up the freshly roasted beans just before we use them.
We then press the mixture into trays before lightly baking and then cutting our bars. We weigh each square by hand to ensure uniformity.
Now it’s time to begin packaging. Again, this is done by hand.
Perhaps it’s around 1 pm. You just got back from a lunch-time ride and you realize you’re running low on endurance fuel, so you place an order on endurobites.com. As you place your order, we quickly finish packaging the Dark Chocolate Espresso bars so we can head to the post office with them the same day.
Depending on where you live, you will get your Dark Chocolate Espresso Enduro Bites bars in 2 to 3 days, just in time for your weekend adventures! When your friends are gnawing on cardboard, you’ll be delighting in a lovely made-just-this-week taste!
Note: while our bars technically have a 6 month shelf life, we recommend refrigerating or freezing them if you don't plan to eat them within a week or two. This maintains that fresh-from-the-kitchen taste!
